Mexico keeping the first place, no matter on what"
Mexico is a country with great historical, cultural and natural riches, in which we could be
potency, but we do not have the necessary investment in this moment to exploit natural
resources like oil, gas, minerals, etc. whereby we are between the first’s places in Latin
America and around the world. We have also broken many international barriers for
commerce between our multinational companies that are supported by multiple commerce
treaties. However, the figure of a developing country with great progress and growth in
different sectors of the country is just the division between two social classes, one of them
the poor people.
Could be a clear example the Forbes magazine which talks about the richest people in the
world, with some Mexicans in the list like Carlos Slim Hel, the principal shareholder of
Grupo Carso, is the character best placed in the list at 1st place, while Joaquín “El Chapo"
Guzmn Loera (the Sinaloa cartel leader and the largest supplier of cocaine and narcotics
from Mexico to the United States), is the man who appears in the place number sixty and
climbing, also is one of the characters with the most opulent fortunes according to the
Forbes magazines while in many zones of Mexico exists a huge lack and poverty like the
town of Guadalupe and Calvo in Chihuahua, where the kids abandon the schools because
they need to work and support their families.
This is demonstrating that the economy is not so well at all, with no growth compared with
the growth of other countries that in the past were stragglers and now they are bigger than
us as China did it. But leaving aside this external factors, Mexico have a social problem
called poverty that is growing as the first places in the Forbes richest people list.
In Mexico, the poverty linked with the ignorance is a reality in the way exists a lack of
resources to have the capacity to get the “canasta básica", a job, education and an
opportunity beyond the last alternative called poverty, in which all the citizens are

interested and fight day by day. In our country more than the 70% of the population is poor
and the 80% of them live in extreme poverty according to the Coneval and some experts.
