Crossing the Bar Poetry Analysis

“Crossing the bar,” Alfred Lord Tennyson uses different literary devices, rhyme, figurative
language, moods and characteristics to express the acceptance of death.
Alfred Lord Tennyson was famous for his poetry. He was born in 1809 into a large
family. He had 11 sisters and brothers. Tennyson began writing at a very young age and had
plenty interest in poetry. He wrote a lot of poetry with his brother in college, but later began his
solo career. He attended Universities for grammar and took college very seriously. He was
known as the leading poet during the Victorian Age. He passed obstacles with deaths of friends
that affected his poetry. Tennyson wrote this poem to symbolize his acceptance to death and died
