Plea Bargaining
In most criminal cases conclusions are not easy to come to; therefore the American legal
system uses a system of plea bargaining. Plea bargaining or negotiating a plea is the process in
which a defendant pleads guilty to the given charge to receive a lesser sentence or offense.
Statistics show that about 90% of criminal cases in the United States legal system conclude with
plea bargains. Some people such as the courts, plea bargains are beneficial but to others plea
