Greenhouse gases are primarily responsible for the elevation in temperature
associated with global climate change. Although carbon dioxide is often considered the
most important of these gasses, other greenhouse gasses also exist, particularly
methane. In this paper I will be explaining to you where the methane responsible for
global warming comes from, how much methane is expected to contribute to global
warming over the next 100 years and the important characteristics that separate methane
from carbon dioxide in regards to global warming, and how it is different in important
ways.
