PIANO RECITAL
In order to finish my recital paper I went to this recital. The name of the recital is “New
Music Ensemble”. The time is October 25th. The location of the recital is IU Auer Hall.
Because this recital is a really wonderful recital, there are lots of performers. And there are
totally 3 pieces. The first one is Distant Runes and Incantations (1987) by Joseph
Schwantner (born 1943). The performers are Clare Longendyke, Piano, Nicole Frankel,
Piccolo / Flute / Alto Flute, JJ Koh, Clarinet / Bass Clarinet, Sean Gill, Percussion, Soomin
Lee, Violin, Delyana Lazarova, Violin, Erin Rafferty, Viola, Nicholas Mariscal, Cello,
Justin Kujawski, Bass, David Dzubay, Conductor. The second one is Taking Charge (2012)
by Joseph Schwantner. The performers are Kathryn Lukas, Flute / Piccolo, Evan Chapman,
Percussion, Danny Paik, Percussion, Jooeun Pak, Piano, David Dzubay, Conductor. The
last one is Chamber Concerto (1925) by Alban Berg (1885-1935). There are lots of
performers in this piece. They are Jorja Fleezanis, Violin, Karl Paulnack, Piano, Michelle
Stolper, Piccolo, Nicole Frankel, Flute, Kathleen Carter, Oboe, Rachel Edward, English
Horn, Francisco Brunner, E-Flat Clarinet, JJ Koh, Clarinet, Keith Northover, Bass
Clarinet, Danielle Osbun, Bassoon, Kevin Grainger, Contrabassoon, Burke Anderson,

Because this paper is for my piano class, I am supposed to talk about the piano in this
recital. Even though the piano performers of these three pieces are different people, there
