Questioning the Absurdity of Life
An objection of whether or not life is absurd is that “nothing we do now will matter in a
million years” (Nagel pg. 11) which leads to the conclusion that “it does not matter now that in a
million years nothing we do will matter” (Nagel pg. 11). I have trouble understanding the
reasoning behind this concept. If the actions of the past have no positive correlation or meaning
to the modern day world let alone the future, why do we study history? Why do we care that
women earned the right to vote through the nineteenth amendment on the year of 1920? What is
