Cynical Zombie Cinema
The prevalence of cynicism and irony of cinema in today’s films gives us a less-
than positive idea of the world, in such a way that by giving people the fantasized aspect
of a freer world, cynicism is welcomed. At this point, we are accustomed to the zombie
era of films when it is a fantasy, rather than a nightmare. Societies focus should be on its
message.
The Cynic is believed to be an idealist about certain things according to life on earth like
situations that one has to go through as well as decisions a person has to make. Sloterdijk
sees “cynicism as the dominant operating mode in contemporary culture, both in the
personal and institutional levels.” This brings the idea that even in zombie cinema there is
bound to be a person with a cynical idea about the story. For example “The Night of the
