Purpose:
Persuade audience into donating blood at least once a year
Introduction:
1. Currently it is one o’clock, and if I were still in highschool I would have given this
speech at least 15 times by this hour. During my senior year in highschool I was a part
of a school organization called HOSA, an organization in charge of promoting and
informing students about local blood drives occurring on our school campus.
A. For every speech I gave in a classroom my goal was to increase the number
of individuals donating blood, but today my goal is to get you to donate period.
B. Houston is known for our medical district, yet many blood banks have low
blood donations during the winter and summer and that relates to students in
highschool.
Body:
1. In highschool it was easy to get people to donate blood because of one major
reason: the blood drive was actively occurring on campus, the fact that blood drives are
occurring on campus increases the likelihood of individuals donating blood, Dr.Bryant
