Personal Statement: Julie Ahmed
In my lifetime, I have been fortunate enough to see first-hand the breath-taking view of the
heart of Paris from the infamous Eiffel Tower, to feel the dense salt of the Israeli dead sea
exfoliate my skin, to smell the countless aromas filling the Bazaar Spice market in
Istanbul, and to hear to hear the voices of friendly Australians bustling through the alley
ways of Melbourne. However, I have always been just a curious tourist, an outsider
peeking in on a different and beautiful culture. By studying abroad, I will challenge myself
to a new, mysterious journey and aim to unveil all of the answers to my curiosities. In my
extended studies in Prague, I hope to immerse myself into the Czech Republic city and
become more than just a visitor.
After extensive research, it is quite clear that Czech University of Life Sciences Prague is
the perfect place to carry on my studies and experience everything I am looking for
through this amazing opportunity. Prague is seasoned with undiscovered culture and
history. The striking city that resides along the Vitava Rivera is a center of culture,
economics, and politics for Eastern and Central Europe. Prague is a Mecca for someone
like me who enjoys the arts such as architecture and music and is looking for inspiration.
The fact that Prague has remained so Gothic and ornate excites me and furthers my
yearning to explore the tempting and mysterious city. Also, Prague’s location is more than
