Am I saving enough for Retirement?
Retirement is a concept that isn’t addressed very often by college students, but it is never
too early to start thinking of saving for the future. During college most students aren’t intrigued
by investing, however there is a possibility that they are clueless about the process and where to
look for resources. Some information can be attained through radio stations and library resources
from your college. Each resource has their strengths, weaknesses and limitations; I will compare
the two and see which one is better for a certain setting.
In radio stations, similar to The Truth About Money, with Ric Edelman, people ask
specific questions related to their finances. Ric Edelman is an acclaimed Financial Advisor, who
advises people on his radio segment, on any questions related to finances. For example, on the
show broadcasted on January 9, 2016 we have a man named Jordan who wants assurance that he
has enough money saved up for retirement. As seen before, having personal finance questions
answered is helpful, but it may take a while to get a response or being the one that gets to ask
Edelman a question on the show. However, having a specific personal finance question answered
by someone can be helpful versus looking for general information. Radio hosts like Ric Edelman
help by responding in detailed ways.
