1. Define and explain the differences between race and ethnicity.
People usually get race and ethnicity confused. Race is more specific than
ethnicity it is primarily unitary. “You can identify ethnically as Irish and Polish, but you
have to be essentially either black or white.” For example, if you’re Hispanic your race
would be the type of Hispanic you are like Mexican while Hispanic would be your
ethnicity.
2. Watch all of the race and ethnicity world conflict videos and discuss each of the five
themes of cultural geography as it relates to each of the videos.
