For this activity, called Pemberton’s Dilemma, we were divided into 2 teams
compositions. The activity consisted on two markets in a town, one called the Corner
Store’s and the other the Country Market’s. This activity had one objective for both stores,
to maximize profits. I was put into the management team of Country Markets store #2.
Since we could not negotiate with the Corners store management team till after the fourth
week, we had to put our action plan by what we thought best for our store. This decision
was taken because we thought that if one team open the store for any given week, the other
team would start opening the store and that would just start giving out loses instead of
profits to our store. We had to choose if we wanted to open the store on Sunday or stayed
closed. This came with profits and consequences depending on the decisions. The decision
was simple, but at the same time it was hard since some of the team members wanted to
open the store so they could win the $40,000 USD a week. After some time of talking
about it with the other people in the management position, we came to the conclusion, that
no matter what happens, the first four weeks, our store would remain close. This decision
was made, because of both stores open, we both would loose money, but if both stores
