How Should Paul Revere Be Remembered?
Paul Revere should be remembered as a Colonial Hero. He was famously known for
warning the people of Lexington that the British troops were coming. This warning gave the
local militia time to assemble and was able to repel the British forces, achieving early victory.
People associate Paul Revere only for his famous “midnight ride” which warned the people of
Lexington. Paul was much more. He was the son of Apollos Rivoire, a French immigrant. At the
age of thirteen he became a goldsmith and silversmith. At the age of nineteenth, his father passed
away. He became the man of the house and had to take over the business to support his mother,
brothers, and sisters. Paul was also a married man and had eight children. When his wife Sarah
died, he married a woman named Rachel and had eight more children. Paul was a very hard-
working man. He was not only busy with his business, but he was also a dentist and engraver.
Paul Revere is such a great man and should be remembered for his “Midnight Ride” which
warned people that the British were coming, he was active at protesting against the British
government, he worked as Boston’s Committee Safety and Boston’s Committee of
Correspondence, and he was also incredibly supportive of the revolutionary cause.
