“What Patriot’s Day (April 19) Means to You”
It is important to understand that there are different historic days in the history of the United
States that have their different kinds of importance. Every historic day, which is celebrated today
in the U.S, is special in its own terms. Some days are more special for few communities, and
some days are special for other communities. The Patriot’s Day celebrated on 19th April, is one
of those historic days. Actually, it is a day celebrated on the 3rd Monday of every year. It is
important to mention here that Patriot’s Day is not a holiday on the Federal level; however, it is
celebrated as a holiday in two states of the country; one in Massachusetts and the other in Maine.
In these two states, people enjoy a complete day off as businesses and schools are closed. This
day has great importance with regards to the American Revolutionary War. The history of this
day dates back to 19th April 1775, when the Battle of Concord and the Battle of Lexington
