Part 2 Case Study: Eastern Gear, Inc. Job Shop
Eastern Gear, Inc., manufactures custom made gears with a variety of weights. Ranging
from only some ounces to even heavier of fifty pounds. The company uses different metals for
gears. Eastern Gear primarily sells their products to engineering research and developmental
laboratories or sometimes very small manufacturers. Due to this being their only market, there is
a small number of gears in each order. Rarely does the same exact gear get ordered more than
