Final Paper- Gil Buckman
Gil Buckman is the main character in the film Parenthood. Gil is a 35-year-old father
who is married to Karen. Together they have three children, Kevin, Taylor and Justin (with their
fourth child being born at the end of the movie). Gil and Karen have a very loving relationship
with some bumps along the way, which is can be expected with any relationship.
Gil has quite a large family who is quite different from him. He is the oldest son of Frank
and Marilyn. He has an older sister named Helen with 2 children. Gil and Helen’s younger sister
is Susan is married to Nathan and have a child together. The youngest is Larry who has a child
named Cool. The family is not religious by any means and throughout the film.
Gil works as a sales executive in St. Louis and has been at his job for 8 years. He is told
