After reading Care Ethics and Liberal Freedom by Daniel Engster, it is evident that
Engster believes care is important within liberalism. To be more specific, the thesis of Engster’s
paper is stated that care is important for freedom, and this is to be understood as negative liberty
and positive liberty. It is important to examine what Engster defines “care” as. In his article, he
