I am impressed by the creativity and the original way Pablo Neruda writes. I had read a
few of his poems in high school but I did not understand them all the way like I did this
time. As a Latin American person I feel proud to say that he is a Nobel Prize winner,
because he came from the lowest of the society, and still grew up to be an amazing writer
and left so many important messages for all the humanity written. I cannot imagine
growing up in the same quality of life as he did, sounds so hard and harsh; but he took the
best of what he was left and make it something amazing.
The first poem that I read this time was Tonight I Can Write.. . The lines 26 and 27
shocked me the most, because even though I had relationships before I had never thought
of love as this. “I no longer love her, that’s certain, but maybe I love her. Love is so short,
forgetting is so long.” Its so true even though it is such an unapplied way of thinking, I
believe. We enjoy what we have and we tend to get so use to the fact that it is there so we
