Overview of Software As A Service
Software as a Service (SaaS) is a new delivery model of software that has been emerged
with the Internet since 1990’s, in which users buy a subscription from the publisher instead of
perpetual-use license (Choudhary, 2007; Finch 2006). SaaS providers deliver on-demand
services and the computing abilities instead of stand alone software (Ma, 2007). This article
overviews the advantages and disadvantages of SaaS to an organization, explains approaches to
minimize the risks associated with SaaS implementation.

According to Finch (2006), the benefits of SaaS to a customer can be summarized as: (1)
