In Barbra Ehrenreichs article Overrated Optimism: The Peril Of Positive Thinking,
She talks about the overrated American trend on Positive Thinking. She goes into how
psychologist Martin Seligman made up the phrase learned optimism and how being positive
can outdo all the bad in ones life. Ehrenreich is not buying any of that for a second. In fact she
pretty much mocks the idea of being optimistic and how thinking positive is not realistic ( which
