The Danger of a Single Story
The speaker Adichie talks about “the danger of a single story” meaning that the stories
people tell about other cultures and their people are usually on the same premise and give
readers or listeners a very narrow and one sided view about a group of people. This is a topic
that can be engaged through anthropological studies and ethnographies in particular because
then people can learn the other sides and true story of a cultural group in order to put the
single story in the past. I can definitely agree that children are more impressionable to these
stories because they are still learning and take most everything they hear especially from adults
