SFTA’s effects on U.S. - Singapore Trade of Electrical Machinery

The SFTA is responsible for Singapore’s growth in international trade of electrical machinery.
Introduction:
For my paper, I chose to analyze the implementation of the Singapore Free Trade
Agreement (SFTA) and its effects on the trade of electrical machinery. The SFTA, which
was signed on May 6th, 2003 and came into force on January 1st, 2004, outlines the duties
and obligations of Singapore and the U.S., with regards to trade in goods and services,
customs procedures, intellectual property protection and the environment. I plan to
leverage previous economic journals, public economic databases, and other credible
resources to ultimately understand if the SFTA is responsible for Singapore’s success in
international trade of electrical machinery. To start, I will analyze how imports and
exports, wages and employment, and foreign investment have specifically been impacted
