BIG 5 PERSONALITY SCALE AND PERPETUAL ERRORS 2
Section 1: Question 1
The Big 5 personality scale consists of five main categories of personality such as
openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. I have assessed my
personality based on this Big 5 personality scale which I have mentioned in the following
paragraphs and discussed how this personality chrematistics affect our work both individually
and team setting. In addition, I have also discussed the positive and negative aspects of each
attributes.
Openness
Openness, in a short, illustrates a person’s desire to think in a complicated way. Person
achieving higher scores may be creative, adventurous and intellectual, whereas lower score
achieving people may be more practical, conventional, and focused on the concrete. Based on
this test, my score is 81% which indicates higher openness in my personality and my tendency is
playing with the new ideas and discovering unknown things. That’s why I am strongly associated
the culture and art and do not have an intension to focus on more particle things. So, I consider
myself as a creative, imaginative person and I am highly focused on intellectual development

positive aspects of this attributes are people are more likely to be politically liberal and pursue
scientific careers as they have higher IQ than the lower openness people. The wider
collaboration, innovation, and easy participation in a group work are the main advantages of this
attributes. On the other hand, identity issues, unpredictability, and time pressures are the negative
sides of this attributes. From my personal experience, when I worked as a finance executive in
MGH group in Bangladesh, I saw some people who are more openness in their personality, they

could easily cope up with the work environment and did better in their group performance as
well as individual work by creating innovative ideas and thoughts.
Conscientiousness
Conscientiousness defines self-discipline and self-control of a person to pursue the desired
goals. Higher scores in this category represents a person more organized and determined. In high
score category, people have the tendency to sacrifice their short-term interests to achieve long
term benefits. By contrast, people with lower scores are highly impulsive and they easily
influenced by other factors without proper consideration. Overall, the concept of
conscientiousness focuses on dilemma or a quandary situation. Based on this judgement criteria,
my score is 65%, which represents the moderate range. This score determines that I am average
