complete a task. Competencies personal characteristics that lead to superior
performance. Person- job matching selecting developing and redesigning.
– Role perception (mars) Understand the job duties expected, clearer role perceptions
(role clarity) when we: understand our tasks or accountable consequences,
understand task performance priorities, understand the preferred behaviors
procedures. Benefits of clear role perceptions: More accurate efficient job
performance, better coordination wither others, higher motivation.
– Situational factors (mars) environmental conditions beyond the individual’s short
term control that constrain or facilitate behavior. Constraints time budgets facilities
ect. Cues eg signs of nearby hazards.
– Typed of individual behavior: task performance goal directed behaviors under the
individuals control that support organizational objectives. Performance= proficiency,
adaptability and proactivity.
