Introduction:
For an organization to succeed, it needs to focus on the skills and knowledge of
people who can give the organization competitive and sustainable competitive
advantages.
There is substantial discussion among professionals and researchers on the effect
that development program has on both employee and organization.
An analysis of the existing literature shows that a training and development
program could arguably be the best possible way to engage employees and helping
them set their career goals since there are not always promotion opportunities
available. ( Khawaja & Nadeemhi, 2013)
From an HRM perspective, research on employee development seems an area of
high importance. This review of literature examines the relationship between
employee development and organizational performance and supports the
commonly held belief that employee development programs make positive
contributions to organizational performance.
Research question: Does the Training and Development Program have any
benefit to the employees and the Organization?
Independent Variable: Training and Development Programs
Dependent Variable: benefits to the Employee and Organization
Null Hypothesis: Training and development program has no benefit either to the
employee or to the organization.
Hypothesis: The impact and importance of development program both on
employee and organization
Literature review:
With globalization, organizations find it difficult to stay competitive, and they are
increasingly using Human resource management methods with more emphasis on
the employee development program. Employees are an essential resource of any
organization and success or failure of the organization depends on their
performance (Khawaja.J& Dr. Naseer A, 2012).
Therefore, organizations are increasingly investing in employee training and
development programs. All studies in this area show that a systematically
developed training and development program; directly or indirectly, will positively
contribute to employee performance; as employees feel more engaged when they
believe that their employer is concerned about their growth. It will also lead to the
success of the organization by contributing to its market growth, reducing turnover
and absenteeism while increase employees’ satisfaction, productivity.
