Ahmed enterprises’ ultimate goal is provide best export quality garments and meeting the
international requirements within given time and best use of resources, as 80% of their garments
are exported to Europe and 20% to the USA. Ahmed Enterprises uses desk research to search for
potential customers. If at some point of time in a year the company is unable to find orders, then
the company approaches buying agents to get orders. Customer are not tough to find. However,
attracting a customer and fulfilling all its requirements, to get an order is a difficult job.
Production usually comprises of five to six steps. After the pattern has been made the storage
department releases fabric stock to the cutting department. Cutting department usually works
faster then other departments, so most of the employees of this department are hired on variable
wage rate (mostly according to piece rate system). Stitching is a skill job and require highly
skilled workers, because, a slight deviation in quality can lead to the cancellation of the whole
order. Stitching is the most time taking process. Therefore, most of the employees in this
department are full time employees on permanent wages. The deviated garments are taken out,
those garments which’s errors can be corrected are sent for correction. Now these pressed
garments are first folded and then packed into polybags. Once the Auditing team approves the
order then the garment is sent to the port for shipping and is shipped according to the contract.
