Some Facts About Plagiarism
What is Plagiarism?
One type of plagiarism is called paraphrase plagiarism includes making changes, maybe small or
large changes to the original work, then submitting it as one’s own. This would be making changes such
as using synonyms for various words within the sentence or paragraph or perhaps switching around
some words here and there to keep the same meaning. An individual can simply change a few words
here and there in a sentence; however the sentence must be cited correctly. If some parts of the
sentence or paragraph use the same exact word combinations, the student must enclose those specific
few words in the sentence, but not the entire sentence because only slices of the sentence was copied.
