Observation One
Room Description: Classroom
The layout of the 24-36-month old’s room is open with some closed spaces. When you
walk into the room immediate to the left is where a counter is for the teacher, next to that counter
is the broom and some steps for the children to wash their hands. The drawers do not have any
form of child lock. On the right is a shelf that has wooden blocks (squares, rectangles, circles,
triangles) 4 construction hard hats and bucket of little people. The shelf has word labels for the
toys, there was not any picture labels of the toys. On the other side of the shelf it had the music
center. There were 3 guitars, 1 drum, 1 tambourine, 2 egg shakers, 2 maracas. This shelf also had
word labels in place for the toys, but there were no picture labels. In the far-right corner was the
home center. This center had a wardrobe (taller than all children in the class) that had about 6
outfits hanging, next to the wardrobe was the play sink and stove. In front of the play sink/stove
