My Dorm Room
I currently live in one of the many dorm halls on the University of Alaska Fairbanks
campus. This building is called Moore-Bartlett-Skarland complex which faces many hills and
beautiful mountains. Where the sun travels from the Skarland side to the Moore side of the
building. My dorm room is one of the many rooms where the sun partially shines through my
window. When the sunsets, I could see sunbeams but not for long. Each day the weather is
different. It could be snowing outside with huge snowflakes and the next day the sun is shining
with a blue sky. I look through my window from time to time, and gaze at the mountains afar.
My dorm room is a place where you could hear the air conditioning go on 24 hours a day
and 7 days a week, it never stops. At a certain hour, something makes a weird sound, I’m not
sure what it’s called. It is set like a timer, and when it goes off it sounds like a siren. As if it were
a sound where the whole building is being evacuated. It makes me think there is a fire drill going
on, but it only lasts a second. I look up towards the white wall and could see little bumps. Not
those bumps that look harsh, but smooth. The light is dim, and not so bright. Like the ones where

like Hawaiian Aloha. I am sitting on a chair in front of a brown desk. On the corner of the left
