The Story of Lemoniaquisha Slabovawitz
Lemoniaquisha Slabovawitz, 103, died Friday, October 17, 2014, just one week away
from his 104th birthday. While riding a tandem bicycle with his wife, Mia, he was mauled by a
pack of mountain lions. Born October 24, 1911, Lemoniaquisha went through 14 divorces before
finding the love of his life, Mia Ivy. Lemoniaquisha and Mia married on Valentine’s Day in 1972.
Lemoniaquisha had 17 children, Nick, Matt, Chris, Owen, Christian, Elijah, Andy, Cody,
Troy, Courtney, Mike, James, Paul, Jim, Lemon, Jordan, and Nevah, all of which are boys and
survive him. Additionally, he leaves behind 32 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Lemoniaquisha was drafted into the military during World War II and ended up in the
Marine Corps. Special Forces. He was wounded 37 times but refused to return home. He
claimed: “I just love killing the Nazis”. He also found a new hate for the British, he said: “We
would take the town in the morning and give it to the British and by the evening they would lose
it and we would have to get it back that night.” Lemoniaquisha had the option to be promoted to
a Marine Corps General but turned it down because “There weren’t any more Nazi’s to kill”. He
retired from the Marine Corps with 246 confirmed kills and an estimated 150+ unconfirmed.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, he returned home to his 8th wife Madison Bing, but
