Obesity and social life
According to the research of world health organization an estimated 13% of adults are obese.
And 1 in 5 children is obese globally
Obesity means accumulation of excess fat in one’s body. Obesity happen when people take more
calories than their requirement. Obesity focuses on the calories which are taken by the human
body but not burned. these calories led to accumulation of fat and lead to obesity.
Obesity is generally caused by eating too much and burning your calories too little but it can also
be caused through genetics. When someone take high amount of food with more calories than
required than those extra calories get stored in body in form of fat which lead to increase in one’s
weight.
People generally relate obesity with health issues like laziness, cardiac, problems diseases etc.
but there are some untouched aspects of obesity which are generally overlooked by people.
Obesity cause some serious social problems like lack of confidence, bullying. Discrimination,
depression, anxiety etc.
For children’s who are living with extra weight can be heartbreaking. We live in a society
where we puts thinness on premium so being obese can be as damaging to a child as the physical
diseases.
In school life it is seen that those who are obese have low self-esteem they are usually teased and
bullied. This can led to poor academic performance and body shame.
Depression is one of the major problem that mostly everyone faces in his life it can be caused by
various factors obesity is one of them. Depression can lead to people isolate themselves and feel
bad about themselves sometimes depression leads people to take some dangerous steps in their
