The O.J Simpson Case
June 12th,1994 may have seemed like any average day in the beautiful Brentwood,
California, but what was in store for two members of the community was extremely
shocking. A little before midnight the Los Angles Police Department got an alarming call
from a neighbor. Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were found dead at the
Simpson’s home, with little evidence to convict anyone of the murder. One of the major
suspects was O.J Simpson, Nicole Brown’s husband. To this day, people still believe that
O.J Simpson was the murder of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, but it is not proven
by a court of law.
Orenthal James Simpson was born on July 9th, 1947 in San Francisco, California. As a
stand-out high school football player he continued his career to University of Southern
California. “During his two years at USC, Oretnthal James Simpson equals or bettered
dozens of records, culminating his collegiate career with the Heisman trophy-awarded to
the nation’s best college football player-in 1968”(Malnic). His football career did not end
there, “After he was drafted in the first round by the Buffalo Bills in 1969, he went on to
establish a Nation Football League single season rushing record of 2,003 yards in
1973”(Malnic). O.J was a well known football player, “ he finished his eleven year pro
career with the San Francisco 49ers as the second leading rusher in the National Football
League history and in 1985 he was inducted into the pro football hall of fame”(Malnic).
Football was not only O.J Simpson’s only success throughout his lifetime. Additionally, he
was featured in the well-known television series, The Roots, and many other movies. He is
also a published author. On “January 27th, 1995 O.J Simpson’s book, I Want to Tell you, is
published”(Linder). As a successful person, the murder trial of Nicole Brown and Ronald
Goldman added on to the fame that he already had.
During O.J’s time in the National Football League, he first married to a woman by the
name of Marguerite L. Whitley. He has three children with her; “Aaren (September 24,
1977-August 18, 1979); Jason (April 21, 1970); Arnelle (December 4, 1968)” (AUTHOR).
Their daughter Aaren drowned in a pool at age two. Before being divorced from his wife,
he met Nicole Brown while she was working at a night club. Once divorced from
Marguerite, a few years later O.J married Nicole Brown, in the same year he was inducted
