Just for Kids is a non-profit organization that I chose because of their purpose to help
young black at risk men. Just for Kids mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to
elevating the quality of life for at–risk youth in metro-Jackson and surrounding areas in
Mississippi. The organization’s mission is three fold: 1) To provide group and one–on–one
mentoring while sponsoring youth oriented events, thus, positively impacting the child’s life.
2) Administer a vocational training program centered around single family housing with
trades such as carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing. 3) Administer a barber school
program to provide a career opportunity in the hair care industry. Altogether, the
organization strives to provide these at–risk kids with positive alternatives to help them make
better life-long decisions and achieve their highest potential as law abiding citizens. The
goal is to reduce juvenile delinquency and gang participation of at–risk youth; to instill
