When it comes to subliminal messages in advertisement the first thing that comes to mind is
targeting younger children and with that in mind cigarette commercials are always a
controversial advertisement. But in a broader perspective subliminal messages do not have to be
all negative. The commercial of the “can you hear me now” guy when he switched over to sprint
caused a lot of controversy because that is something no one expected. The man was the face of
Verizon since I was younger and for him to say his catch phrase in the sprint commercial I feel
that’s what had everyone baffled. Subliminal messages in advertisement causes controversy
because its sometimes a tick for tac or it disrespects the other party but it’s a huge impact
because going back to the sprint commercial it grabbed people’s attention.
