As Tung, Lu, and Cook (2010) states in the article, the most important purpose of this study is to
figure out the relationship of not using condoms and things that affect the usage of condom and
its stages of change.

The target population in this study are students who enrolled in two universities in Northern
Taiwan, and the important behavior is being researched is information and data about condom
use in various situations, knowledge about HIV, as well as both perceived barrier and benefits
regarding using of condom (Tung et al., 2010).

There are 6 stages of change in TTM. Different questions have been asked in the article
regarding stages of changes for condom use among college students in Taiwan, and students
were placed in different stages of change based on their responses to questions regarding condom
use either when they intend using it or how long they have been using it for the time when they
have oral sex, anal, or vaginal; therefore, those students who said they are not using condom all
the time and even not planning to use it in next six months are in pre-contemplation stage, those
who said not currently using condom but planning to use it in next six months are in
contemplation stage, students who said not currently using condom all the time but planning to
begin using it in next 30 days are in preparation stage, those said they use condom all the time
for less than six months are in action stage, and finally those who said that they use condom for
