No Drinking on the Beach?
Panama City Beach is a beautiful city and a great place to live if you like the tropical,
beachy, beautiful type of thing. A majority of Panama cities citizens are retired and or have
their own businesses that gain profit from tourist, spring breakers ect. Although it might be
a wonderful place to retire, it also happens to be the spring break capital of the U.S. Living
in such a place can have its challenges, one being the new, no drinking on sandy beach
during the month regulation. Although I am sure to some it this sounds like a good idea, I
do not completely agree.
On May 13th 2015, the Panama City Beach council unanimously approved a motion to ban
alcohol consumption on the beaches during the month of March starting in the year 2016.
Although it was a unanimous vote, some of the locals are not pleased with this decision. A
good majority of Panama Cites citizens are retired military and have lived here for years. It
is not fair to the tax payer of this beautiful city that they cannot drink on their own beach. I
am not denying that there would be benefits to having this regulation, I just don’t believe it
is the wises decision. One must remember PCB has been the spring capital for a while
now. Many people have moved here to start businesses and make a living, with that being
said the owners of these businesses aversive spring breakers. Taking away drinking from
