Nuerotransmuscular Process
The stimulation of an effector muscle by the nervous system is a complex process of
chemical and voltage transmissions. These transmissions are sent throughout the nervous
system within neurons. Each neuron has dendrites that are receptive to stimuli outside and
throughout the body. Incoming stimuli in the dendrites activate the chemically gated ion
channels within the cell body of a neuron. When the cell body of a neuron receives external,
excitatory stimulates the resting membrane potential of the neuron becomes less negative, due
