Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder that is characterized by sudden and
uncontrollable episodes of sleep. This happens because of the brain’s inability to regulate
sleep-wake cycles normally. A narcoleptic individual may fall asleep at inoppurtune times and
places; such as while working, cooking, driving, etc.
The exact cause of narcolepsy is currently unknown. However, researchers have
suggested that genetics may play a role in the condition or there may be an infection or virus
