Nepotism In Society
Nepotism is controlling our society. Is it bad or good for the civilization? Does it take
over our government and politics? Read more and you will find out. “Nepotism is the practice of
showing favoritism towards one’s family members or friends in economic or employment
terms”(USLegal). Nepotism can be very hard to avoid.
You can see Nepotism is happening all over the world. We can’t stop it but he can make
a better law for it. What people think nepotism is when family members get hired and not
knowing how to work in that specific workplace. Even though people are very good in there
field people will still see nepotism. Here are some examples of Nepotism
Let’s first talk about its laws. The reason why we need a law for this concept is because it
is not fair that people get, in a way, special treatment and get to run a business or even the
country. The law of Nepotism is “a public official may not appoint, employ, promote, advance,
or advocate for appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement, in or to a civilian
position in the agency in which he is serving or over which he exercises jurisdiction or control
any individual who is a relative of the public official” (Chang). This means that if your Dad runs
the Business and if you are not in the office you can’t work for him. For an example president
John F Kennedy, his brother Robert. He assigned him as an attorney general. Robert had no
information about being an attorney general.
Nepotism also is found in the most recent president, Donald J Trump. He arranged it so
that his son-in-law Jared could be a senior adviser. Later, Donald tried to make his children;
Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump part of his administration. “Then it was reported that the
high-level security clearances were being sought for those three children and Trump’s son-in-law
— something the Trump campaign eventually denied”(Blake). In this situation Trump tried to use
his children in office and get power by using them. Trump got denied because this is a perfect
case of using nepotism.
Not only nepotism is happening in the U.S. It’s also a problem in North Korea. Kim Il
