Speech Analysis
The Speech “Ain’t I A Women?” by Sojourner Truth informs the audience about the
burdens of women. It is very touching and emotional because it gets the reader’s attention
right in the beginning. My speech about me wanting to be the best basketball player even
though I was skinny relates to this speech. Both of us are trying to inform the audience of
our difficulties and how bad the burden is. The Speech “Ain’t I A Women?” by Sojourner
uses repetition in the second paragraph. The author repeats “Ain’t I A Women?” over and
over to create emphasis. This relates to my speech when I ask the audience “Am I not good
enough?”
From reading the Speech, the tone is very assertive and demanding. The author captures
the audience by asking them the questions they know the answer too but cannot say
anything. The author also uses repetition “Ain’t I A Women?” to create emphasis. I will use
this rhetorical device to make the audience remember the part I want them to remember.
