United States Constitution has been the foundation and blueprint of our laws and liberties
ever since it was first ratified in 1788. Over the years it has stood the test of time and today it is
the oldest written constitution still in operation in the world. While there is no doubt that the
Constitution has more than served its purpose, it does contain a few ambiguous sections that are
open for interpretation.
One of the most famous of these equivocal sections is what is known as the Necessary
and Proper Clause which grants congress the power to, “make all Laws which shall be necessary and
proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution
in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof” (Article 1, Section 8).
