Native Americans Historical challenges in 1301
President Grover Cleveland in the 125th anniversary signed the Dawes Act which was a piece of
legislation that had a more and devastating impact on the Indians than anything other than the
century-long Indian wars themselves. The follow-up acts were repealed after 47years by the
Indian Reorganization Act whereby 90 million acres were wrenched from the Indian community
