NWIN #65
The short-clip episode NWIN#65 was filled with rich information that I enjoyed learning
about. It talked about the Quileute stone, language camps (Tulalip tribe), Indigenous People’s
Day and the Tulalip Bay CrossFit.
The film started with the Quileute Stone story and how the stone was found by Erik
Wasankari in 2013. One day Erik was fishing, and he noticed a few magnificent carved stones,
that’s when he realized that those stones had some history in them. He then contacted the right
people that could help him identify the stone and he was able to find out that these stones
belonged to the Quileute tribe. The stone was then presented to the Quileute tribe in December
2014 where tons of kids and adults gathered to learn more about their ancestors through the
stone’s carvings. I think that this part of the film was so unique, it was heart-warming to see the
