NAMI
NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and is the biggest mental health
organization with its main focus being to be able to create better lives for people that are affected
by mental illness. This presentation exposed people with different mental disorders (depression,
bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, etc.) and their own stories, from beginning to end. I did not know
this but the term dark day has a meaning to someone that is suffering from a mental disorder.
It’s the period in their lives when they realize there is something going on within themselves.
Some descriptions of these dark days are severe mood swings, gloomy feelings taking over the
