How to maintain an intercultural marriage
Even though love has no culture, religion or boundaries. Individuals from every corner of
the world suffer from the differences and the gap between their cultures, religion and so on. In
order to have a relationship with an individual who's from another country, you must have a
freedom mindset to accept new tradition. Have a mutual respect, and find a mutual language.
The first thing you must do if you want to have a successful intercultural relationship
with your significant other is to be open minded, which is another word for being open to
change. When my grandfather fell in love with an American women, he had to change his strict
Saudi beliefs and merge into an American culture. He chose to sacrifice his values in order to
make their lives easier and obtain her heart. He didn't insist on making her Muslim, nor make
her cook Kabsa and clean every day.
Second thing you have to do is that you should respect their culture. To illustrate, a
friend of mine has a girlfriend who mocks his cultural rules every time he mentions his country,
so he got upset with her and broke up with her, which is something you want to avoid if you
want a long, happy relationship with mutual respect. Furthermore, you have to be acknowledge
