My Literacy Narrative
When I was in second grade, I couldn’t read a paragraph or even a long sentence. I was
one of those students who did not like school. I was not interested in my lessons. My father is
illiterate, but my mother is literate. Every a#ernoon, my mother always called me to grab any
school book related to reading to read to her. I hated that time because it became for reading.
Before that it was my favorite time to play with my cousins. By the time I had reached third
grade my reading and writing had developed progressively, and my mother was still calling me
to read to her. My mother encouraged my interest in reading. One thing that inspired me to
