Considering my lifetime goals such as obtaining a major in Business Administration and
graduating from a four-year college in the suggested time will allow me to have a successful life
shared with a wonderful family. Coming from a humble beginning at the young age of ten I was
faced with a tremendous obstacle in my life: I had to cross the United States border by myself.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of weak”-Isaiah 40:29. When I crossed
the border I was weak and vulnerable yet I knew that God had a plan for me so he led me to
America where I grew strong. Being faced with this barrier has allowed me to grow with
confidence and commitment which allows me to further my education in taking challenging
Advance Placement classes that have prepared me with an atmosphere of an actual college class
and increase my leadership potential on a daily basis. God put the promise in me, he will fulfill
the plan I have been called for.
Through all my battles and difficulties, I know I can trust in Jesus Christ, my light, my
savior. When the enemy tried to seep in I knew that my best days were ahead, all glory to my
mighty Lord who delivers me from darkness and into the light. With the aid of God I have
gained the joy of helping others which has led to become part of several extra-curricular
activities that have prepared me by challenging me, teaching me to manage my time, and how to
get my school work done while performing my best in everything. Being part of many
organizations has allowed me to gain multiple leadership, communication, organization, and
speaking skills that make me an excellent candidate to receive University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
Leadership Scholarship. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I
set you apart; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations”-Jeremiah 1:5. I am not a victim
of poverty, weakness, or failure. I am victorious and never a victim, for God knew me before I
