The Music Modernization Act is a piece of United States legislation that passed and was
signed into law by President Donald Trump on October 11, 2018. This act was meant to
modernize the law on copyright issues that have come up since entering the digital age. The
Music Modernization Act, also known as MMA, took several years to be passed into law and
will likely take just as long to be put into effect, but overall, the law will help artists such as
songwriters earn what they are entitled to for their work. The Music Modernization Act mainly
focuses on three different aspects of copyright law that have changed over the course of the last
