Music: A True Wonder to Us All
Music is enchanting. Whether it be through listening, performing, or composing, it never
fails to move an audience. When people describe what music does to them, they often say that it
takes them to another place and they’re not wrong. Music literally puts people in a different state
of mind and therefore makes them smarter.
What allows music to do this is its complexity. Of all the auditory stimuli that a human
can experience, music is by far the most advanced. What makes music so special is that it’s
unlike any other sound- it’s meaningful. Unlike random noises that people hear on the street,
music has a unique melody and specific structure. This makes the brain perceive it as something
more significant As a result, multiple regions of the brain, such as the auditory cortex, motor
