Film Analysis
Jack Elliot, a one-time MVP for the New York Yankees, with a down falling career, and
an upcoming younger player ready to replace him, he gets transferred to play in Japan with a
Japanese baseball team called Chunichi Dragons. Elliot, having a stubborn mindset, and thinking
that his ways of playing and training for baseball are the right and only ways, struggles with the
Japanese culture and the new rules set by the coaches. After meeting his PR agent, Aya
Takahashi, which turns out to be the coach’s daughter, he falls in love with her, and accepts his
situation by working on adapting the Japanese culture and the rules that come with it. Verbal
communication, manners, and culture orientation, are crucial interpersonal communication skills,
